Financial Empowerment for the Underprivileged in Kusumgram, West Bengal

Dharmansh USA provided support for the establishment of multiple Jhatka meat shops in Kusumgram, Memari, Purba Bardhaman district, West Bengal, India, during the first couple of months of 2024. These shops will uplift the impoverished community of this village by providing economic opportunities and improving the financial well-being of its residents.

Kusumgram is a village struggling with extreme poverty, where many families find it challenging to afford even the basic necessities of life. The lack of sustainable income sources has perpetuated the cycle of poverty, leaving the villagers in dire need of assistance.

These shops will not only serve as outlets for selling meat products but also act as catalysts for economic growth within the community.

We aim to create a sustainable income source for the villagers. They will have the opportunity to rear goats locally and sell them at the shops, thereby stimulating economic activity within the village. Additionally, the introduction of poultry farming will further diversify income opportunities for the villagers, as they can supply poultry products to these shops.

This project will significantly enhance Kusumgram’s financial situation, empowering its residents to lead better lives. The increased income flow will enable families to afford education, healthcare, and other essential amenities, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty.
