Thus, a Hindu temple is not just a gathering place or a prayer hall, unlike a mosque or a church. A Hindu temple is the abode of the presiding deity. It is an energy field, which radiates the auspicious energy of the presiding deity, and as such, many temples are famous for specific boons.
Even in the independent India, Hindu temples are a victim of random attacks, vandalizing of temple premises and encroachment of temple land by fringe elements in the society and non-Hindu communities.
All of this is allowed by the Governments in the states as well as by the Central Government of India which is disconnecting Hindus from temples slowly but surely and that makes conversion of Hindus into non-Hindu faiths easier.
There are countless ancient Devalayas, Groves and Trees that have been ignored for decades and many of them are in ruins because of attack by invadors or by the fringe elements during riots. Many of these places will bring joy to Hindu society and revive Hindu culture if these places are renovated and made accessible to the ordinary Hindus living around these places.
