Gurukul in Kashi Gets Much Needed Support from Dharmansh USA

The Original Sanatana Dharma based education system was very different from the Modern Education System. In Ancient times Rishis-ascetics, brought students out of individualism irrespective of caste or creed to realize the existent unity behind diversity. Yoga was the means to achieve that objective.

Modern education teaches you how to earn, to collect, to amass the means of happiness but not how to obtain happiness itself. The ancient education system was for eternal everlasting peace of mind which consequently manifested infinite peace. This gave people a detached way of thinking because detachment meant experiencing or realizing the uniting thread and resultantly serving that manifestation of Supreme Consciousness who is the embodiment of all living souls and gives an attached way of serving the Self.

With the help of some of Dharmansh volunteers, a Gurukul which is just about 120 metres from Kashi Vishvanath mandir in the ancient 3-ft wide streets provides that traditional vedic education in Shuklayajurveda and Samaveda as well as the 6 Vedangas of Panini Vyakaranam, Jyotish, Kalpa, Chanda, Nirukta (no teacher available at the moment) and Shiksha. They also study Amarkosh (the original dictionary), Sahitya and Darshan Shastras.

Additionally they have computer classes as well as other modern subjects to fully prepare the students of the Gurukul to stay competitive in the contemporary world affairs. Yoga is taught as a way of life and children also compete at a national level in yoga competitions. All year round everyone wakes up with the start of Brahma Muhurta giving a special start to each day. Trikalik Sandhya is practiced and everyone takes part in daily Rudrabhishekam with Sankalpa for better lives for all beings everywhere. Children are predominantly from villages and/or Anath and from time to time special needs.

This is a residential Gurukul where students receive accommodation, education, food, clothing, books, medical support and anything considered part of normal life. This year, Dharmansh USA team provided financial support in providing materials for children such as bags, Yoga mats, bedsheets, blankets, mattresses, clothes, books as well as fixing infrastructure such as bathroom repairs, replacing ceiling fans, and providing new computer accessories.

This timely support for much needed items has given a boost to the morale of the teachers, students and community alike. Volunteers from team Dharmansh USA are working with the Gurukul management to ensure that the students get the best atmosphere and care needed so that this Gurukul becomes an example of well run Gurukul to encourage Hindu parents to prefer Vedic Gurukul based education for their children over convent based modern education that is slowly but surely driving Hindus away from their Sanatan Dharma and Sanatan value system.

We want to take this opportunity to all Dharmansh donors and supporters who enable us to pickup unique projects like these and provide critical support  to those who are working hard to preserve Dharma like this Gurukul in Kashi.
